Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 13, 2026
Who We Are
TakeHome IQ is a paycheck planning app operated by Guani Holdings LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the TakeHome IQ mobile application and website (collectively, the “Service”).
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
When you use TakeHome IQ, you enter paycheck-related information such as earnings, filing status, deductions, and pay frequency. The app stores this data locally and, when iCloud is available, mirrors it to your private iCloud database so it can sync across your devices. We do not maintain a separate TakeHome IQ account database of these records. Pay Stub Scan, optional analytics, feedback, and email signup use the separate data flows described below.
Pay Stub Scanning
If you use Pay Stub Scan, everything visible in the selected image can be sent to our scan route and Anthropic’s Claude API for extraction, including names, employee identifiers, account numbers, wages, employer, and pay dates. TakeHome IQ’s application code handles the image in memory and does not write it to our application database. A scan request can also include the device locale and operational security data. Depending on the deployed route, our services use a network address or its hash for rate limiting and may validate an Apple-issued App Attest key and assertion. The attestation key is not a TakeHome IQ account or user ID. Anthropic states that standard API inputs and outputs are automatically deleted from its backend within 30 days, with exceptions for services with different retention, usage-policy enforcement, or legal requirements. Anthropic also states that commercial API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default unless the customer opts in or submits qualifying feedback. See Anthropic’s current retention and training notices. Extracted figures return to the app, where they are stored locally and may sync through your private iCloud database.
Email Address
If you contact us for support, we collect your email address. We use it only to communicate with you about TakeHome IQ and will never sell it to third parties.
Automatically Collected Information
Analytics are off by default. If you opt in on the website, Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity, and Vercel Web Analytics receive page, interaction, performance, and session information. If you opt in in the iOS app, Firebase Analytics receives feature-use and workflow events, selected state, filing, pay-frequency, and earnings-mode categories, and broad ranges for income, overtime, deductions, and net pay; exact paycheck amounts, your name, and your email are not included in those events. Analytics providers may use provider-generated device or app-instance identifiers. Independently of analytics consent, network services receive the routing and security metadata needed to deliver requests, enforce limits, and prevent abuse.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Generate paycheck estimates and projections on your device
- Process pay stub images when you use the Scan feature
- Improve app features, performance, and reliability
- Respond to support requests
- Send product updates if you have opted in
Data Storage and Security
The app keeps a local SwiftData store and mirrors supported records to the private CloudKit database in your iCloud account when iCloud is available. TakeHome IQ does not maintain a separate primary database of those paycheck records. Data sent to the scan, feedback, email, analytics, subscription, and iCloud services is handled by those services under their applicable terms. Network requests use encryption in transit.
Data Retention
Local paycheck records remain until you delete them or remove the app. Records mirrored to your private iCloud database follow your iCloud account and may remain available to sync after the app is removed from one device; removing the app alone is not a request to delete those iCloud records. Delete records in the app before removal if you want the deletion mirrored through CloudKit. TakeHome IQ does not write uploaded scan images to its application database. Anthropic’s standard API retention and exceptions are described in the Pay Stub Scanning section above. To prevent replay and abuse, an anonymous App Attest record containing the attested public key, assertion counters, registration/last-seen times, root version, and block status may be retained. That record is not stored with a user ID, IP address, locale, or scan contents. If you provide an email for support, we retain it only as long as needed to communicate with you; you may request deletion.
Feedback you send us
If you choose to send feedback from this website or from within the app, we receive the message you write and, if you provide it, the email address you enter so we can reply. When you report a problem, we also receive basic context — the page you were on, your device type, and your browser — to help us reproduce the issue. We use this information solely to read, reproduce, and respond to your feedback and to improve the product. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and is not linked to your identity unless you give us your email. Submitting feedback is always optional, and we retain submissions for up to 12 months.
Third-Party Services
TakeHome IQ does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may use the following third-party services:
- Apple iCloud and private CloudKit for syncing supported app records across devices (governed by Apple’s privacy policy)
- Anthropic’s Claude API for pay stub text extraction and parsing (governed by Anthropic’s commercial privacy and retention terms linked above)
- Apple StoreKit for subscription management (governed by Apple’s privacy policy)
- Firebase Analytics for opt-in iOS app analytics (governed by Google’s Privacy Policy)
- Google Analytics 4 for opt-in website usage data (governed by Google’s Privacy Policy)
- Microsoft Clarity for opt-in heatmaps and session replays; our feedback and email fields are explicitly masked, while project settings control other masking (governed by Microsoft’s Privacy Statement)
- Vercel Web Analytics for opt-in, cookieless page-view counts (governed by Vercel’s Privacy Policy)
- Vercel KV (powered by Upstash) for storing the feedback messages you choose to send us, retained for up to 12 months (governed by Vercel’s Privacy Policy)

Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time
- Opt out of any marketing communications
- Request a copy of any data we hold about you
- Delete the app and all locally stored data from your device at any time
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to request deletion.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, rectification, erasure, and data portability.
Children’s Privacy
TakeHome IQ is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Analytics & cookies
After website consent, we use Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity, and Vercel Web Analytics to understand which paycheck guides and calculators are most useful — things like which pages get read, which states get the most traffic, and where people drop off. Clarity also produces heatmaps and session replays. Feedback and email fields are explicitly masked in our page markup; provider-side project settings also affect what Clarity records. We don’t use these tools to build advertising audiences or share data for third-party marketing.
When you first visit the site you’ll see a cookie banner, and nothing is collected until you choose. If you accept, we turn on the analytics tools above. If you decline, none of them load and we won’t see your visit — but everything on the site still works exactly the same. This applies to every visitor, everywhere.
In the iOS app, Firebase Analytics remains off until you opt in. App analytics includes feature-use events and broad financial ranges, not exact paycheck amounts. You can turn app analytics off later in Settings.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective Date” at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
